Charming Bed & Breakfast in the Heart of Veneto
On a sunny spring day, at the invitation of the owner, I visited this cozy bed & breakfast, nestled in the green heart of Veneto. I was warmly welcomed by Giovanna and her sweet golden retriever Bruna, who immediately created a homely, relaxed atmosphere.
The B&B is set in a beautifully restored farmhouse dating back to 1656, originally built by a noble Venetian family. Authentic features – like the wooden floors, original windows, and the impressive fresco on the covered terrace – have been lovingly preserved. You can feel the rich history of the place, without sacrificing comfort: the rooms are modern and fully equipped.
During the summer months, guests can enjoy the lovely pool, which is tucked away in the lush garden for extra privacy. It’s a peaceful spot where you can unwind, surrounded only by birdsong and rustling trees.
Three comfortable suites
The property offers three comfortable suites, each with a private entrance. Two are located in the main building (on the ground and second floor), while the third is in a detached cottage for those seeking more privacy.
All suites are tastefully furnished and come with underfloor heating, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, minibar, kettle, hairdryer, courtesy set, and complimentary bath slippers. Guests can relax outdoors on the shared terrace under the portico.
The friendly owners, Giovanna and Claudio, live on site and make sure their guests have everything they need.
Breakfast with an Italian touch
Each morning, breakfast is served under the portico, with views of the garden and countryside. On cooler days, it moves indoors to the cozy kitchen with its inviting fireplace. If you're staying in Junior Suite C, breakfast is served on your own covered terrace – perfect for a quiet, private start to the day.
Explore the authentic side of Veneto
The B&B is surrounded by peaceful countryside – ideal if you're looking to unwind. For more culture and liveliness, head to one of the nearby towns. Just a short drive away you'll find charming places like Castelfranco Veneto (5 km), with its well-preserved medieval center, and Cittadella (10 km), known for its unique circular city walls you can walk along.
Asolo (18 km), often called the “Pearl of Veneto,” enchants visitors with romantic lanes and pretty piazzas. Bassano del Grappa (22 km), with its iconic wooden bridge Ponte degli Alpini, scenic riverbanks, and of course its grappa, is also not to be missed.
And if you're a Prosecco lover like me, the Valdobbiadene wine region is just 30 minutes away and absolutely worth visiting. One of the best things about this part of Veneto is that it’s still relatively undiscovered – no crowds, no stress, just genuine Italian life.
Fancy a day trip to Venice? There's a direct train from Castelfranco Veneto that takes you right into the heart of the city in under an hour.
In short
Whether you're drawn by the charm of historic towns or simply want to relax in peaceful surroundings, this B&B makes a perfect base. Giovanna and her loyal dog Bruna will make you feel instantly at home – it’s the kind of place where time seems to slow down.
