Quietly-situated spacious agriturismo for the whole family
The road that leads to this authentic agriturismo is lined with olive trees and winds its way across the Tuscan hills with breath-taking views. The final 300 metres to this holiday farm are unpaved. I realized this is the reason why it is so blissfully quiet here. This feeling only intensified when I parked my car. There I was, on the top of a hill, taking in the view of the undulating Tuscan hills. Oh, this is true Tuscany! What followed was a warm welcome from the two hospitable sisters who own the property, together with number 142 nearby. All of their guests are personally welcomed by them, they take care of everything and see to it that everyone feels at home on their farm. Its huge garden with playground and generous swimming pool make this agriturismo highly suitable for families with children.
Lots of space to play and romp
The sisters are proud of the farm’s own produce, such as flour, pasta, oil, jam, gherkins and wine. All of them homemade! They are keen to let you taste them at breakfast and dinner. You can book your breakfast, and dinners are organized a few times per week, on request. This is a special feature of this agriturismo: the love and care that goes into everything! You can taste these fine home-made products in a spacious restaurant with huge windows, open in summer, which reveal the truly spectacular view of the valley. While you are enjoying the view, your children are having a great time in the pool fringed with huge trees that offer welcome shade. Beside the pool you will find sunbeds too. The spacious garden has a small playground with a swing and trampoline, amongst other things. All the requisites for lovely carefree days for the children, either on their own or with the friends they can so easily make here.
Centrally situated
This part of Tuscany maybe less frequented by tourists, but its central location makes it a great home base for trips in all directions. You can choose to stay in the agriturismo and relax beside the swimming pool, of course, but if you want to explore the region, there are various possibilities for exploration. Siena is only an hour and fifteen minutes’ drive, Florence a little over one hour, and you can reach the coast in under one hour (Marina di Cecina). Within 30 minutes you’ll find yourselves in the charming little town of Volterra and other typically Tuscan villages. Explore the less trodden ways of Tuscany from this beautiful agriturismo. Only 4 kilometres away you’ll find a village with a few shops that provide for your day-to-day needs.
The apartments
The main building houses the bilocale and trilocale apartments, with one and two bedrooms respectively. The apartments are on the ground floor or first floor. The first-floor apartments are accessible via two outdoor staircases. All of the apartments are spacious and decorated in typically Tuscan style, and have a modern kitchen. Every apartment has an outdoor area with table and chairs on a shared veranda. Next to the main building is another completely renovated and freshly furnished house. Here is the breakfast room, which doubles as the restaurant, and a little shop selling the farm’s products.
In brief
An original farmhouse in an authentic and delightfully remote area of Tuscany. A place where you can gorge on homemade Tuscan food and where your children have lots of opportunity to enjoy themselves. A definite recommendation for families looking for carefree enjoyment and a relaxing holiday!
