An oasis of tranquillity in lovely country in Le Marche
If you’ve browsed the My Italy website for a little longer, you will know that I have been on a quest for exquisite agriturismos for years, criss-crossing Italy in my car. This country house in the hills between Umbria and Marche struck me for its modern comfort, Italian design and authentic setting. And for the great hospitality with which I was received.
The beautiful panorama is the first thing that visitors will notice. The hill-top house overlooks fields of crops, meadows and mountains, sprinkled with farms and villages. Birdsong all day long, and the chirrup of crickets in the evening: what a lovely place to relax.
The country house was designed with the guests’ peace and tranquillity in mind. The four spacious rooms each have their own terrace with comfy chairs. Guests can also enjoy a swim in the garden’s infinity pool, and relax in the chaises longues at the side. To top it off, there is a jacuzzi where you can revel in a lovely view during your hot water massage.
Breakfast and lunch
The scrumptious breakfast is a good start to the day. Breakfast is also the best time to get tips from the owner on what to see and do in the neighbourhood. Her husband is from France, so besides Italian, she has fluent French. If you decide to spend the day relaxing by the pool, a light lunch can be served. Pasta with salmon, for instance, a caprese salad, or some other delight from the menu.
The nearest village is only a 5-minute drive. It has several shops, a supermarket, bars and restaurants. Within 75 minutes you can get to the sandy beaches of Senigallia or the little coves in Parco del Conero. Or savour Italian rural life in one of the many authentic villages nearby.
Two rooms & two suites
The two rooms are situated on the ground floor, each with its own outdoor terrace. The two suites – one on the ground floor, one at first floor level – are slightly larger and have a sofa in the room. The suites too have their own outdoor terraces with comfortable seating areas. Some of the rooms have a terrace heater for chilly nights. Every room/suite has a mini- bar with drinks and a few local products such as cheese and salami, a kettle and espresso machine. They are also equipped with airco (not in the small double room however), heating, and a wide selection of TV-channels – including Netflix – and a music installation with a choice of 24 playlists. Natural materials have been used in the cosy interior design, but their most notable feature is the view: from the big windows you get magnificent views of the hills. A living painting!
In short
Quiet, luxurious, small-scale accommodation with breakfast and (optional) lunch possibilities. A perfect place to unwind and relax in the beautiful pool or jacuzzi!
