Small and welcoming agriturismo on Lake Como with homely atmosphere

From my very first contact with the owners, I sensed that this agriturismo was the perfect choice for my Lake Como selection of accommodations. Despite their other occupations, welcoming guests to their beautifully renovated agriturismo is their true passion. They strive to create a homely atmosphere reflected in the cozy apartment decor. Their dedication extends to enhancing your vacation with valuable insights on local attractions, activities, and dining spots. Each morning, they offer a fresh bread service, allowing you to enjoy a delightful breakfast on your private terrace. The expansive 4,000m2 garden provides ample space for playing and relaxation. While there isn't a swimming pool, a charming beach on the lake is just 2 km away. An old pear tree with a swing and a pergola equipped with a BBQ invite guests to gather for enjoyable evenings. From here, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the sunset over the mountains and Lake Como.

Characteristic Lake Como

Nestled at the base of Lake Como's largest mountain, on the outskirts of a village, this agriturismo blends seamlessly with its surroundings of houses and meadows. Staying here immerses you in the authentic Italian lifestyle, mingling with locals and savoring the atmosphere. The apartments are housed in charming stone buildings that retain their traditional stacked stone architecture, known as "rustico in sasso", adorned with large wooden beams where possibile. While offering modern comforts, the accommodations maintain the rustic charm of the past. This combination creates a welcoming and genuine ambiance, perfect for a comfortable stay throughout the year.

Renovation and museum

Next to the apartments, there's a small museum constructed by the owners themselves. It showcases the historical process of grinding wheat, barley, and corn into flour using a waterwheel powered by meltwater, a practice dating back to the 1800s. This technology remained in use until around 1960, after which it fell into disrepair until the current owners restored it. Proud of their hard work, the owners gladly offer tours where they share insights into the past and explain the workings of this traditional mill.

Hiking and e-biking at Lake Como

The northern part of Lake Como offers an ideal destination for a vacation full of attractions and activities. Hiking enthusiasts will find plenty of trails to explore, including a popular trail at up to 800 meters altitude that leads all the way along the lake shoreline to Lecco. For those who prefer e-biking, numerous routes and bike trails await, some of them starting right from the agriturismo itself. One notable path leads through the picturesque Valtellina valley to the ski village of Bormio, spanning 100 km and passing through many quaint mountain villages along the way.

Being close to the lake, there's also a wide range of water activities to enjoy, such as swimming in the lake, surfing, kiteboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, canoeing, and boat rentals.

Shopping and strolling along boulevards

At 12 km from the agriturismo is a nice farm with animals and a store with own farm products open 365 days a year. Not far away is also a large indoor shopping center with a wide choice of stores. To get to the lake you only have to walk or drive 1.5 km. You will find many terraces and restaurants and a large public playground which in the evening is a meeting place of locals and tourists. From here, you can also take a tour boat on Lake Como, visiting destinations such as Lecco, Como, and the renowned Bellagio. If you enjoy strolling along charming boulevards and relaxing on terraces, I also recommend visiting the towns of Varenna, Gravedona and Lenno.
